The south end of Papohaku Beach on the Island of Molokai is the beginning of one of the longest sandy beaches in the state of Hawaii. Often entirely deserted, the windswept beach and dune are a treasure of sights and sounds that evoke the Old Hawaii. Rugged and rough, exposed to the storms of the northwest, this shore endures crashing waves that shake the timbers of homes many hundreds of feet away.
